2025 USA Dance National Ballroom DanceSport Championships Volunteer Positions

The 2025 USA Dance National Ballroom DanceSport Championships will be held March 28-30,2025 at the Wyndham Grand Downtowr Hotel in Pittsburgh PA. We are soliciting volunteers to help with the event. Why become a volunteer for this event?
  • First, you will be part of a prestigious national dance event and see incredible dancing by the competitors.
  • Part-time Volunteers (those who work 3 or more hours in a session) get free admission to that session (Matinee, 8 am 5pm and Evening, 6 pm -midnight).
  • Full-Time Volunteers (those who work 8 or more hours in a day and agree to be available to do any job as needed when asked) get admission to the ballroom for the entire day, meals and $35.00 per day.
  • You can relax between shifts in the dedicated Volunteer Room, which is stocked with drinks and snacks.

Volunteer Positions Available:

  • Registration Desk: Assist with competitor check-in (four-hour shifts; 3 per shift Thursday, 4-1 O pm; 3 per shift Friday a Saturday morning; 1-2 per shift other times)
  • Door Monitor Main Doors: Control entry to the ballroom (1 per shift, per session)
  • Door Monitor On-Deck Competitors: Allow only competitors to enter (1 per shift, per session)
  • Eight Hour Availability: Agreement to be available to do any job as needed when asked by the Volunteer Coordinator (four-hour shifts, up to 15 per session)
  • VIP Area Monitor: Control entry to the VIP area for people with the correct credentials (2 per shift, evenings)
  • Workshop & Social Dance Monitor: Control access to Friday’s Social Dance and the Workshops held throughout the c on Saturday and Sunday (1 per Social Dance and Workshops)
  • Officials Meals Monitor: Control access to the Officials’ Meals area for those with appropriate credentials (1 per shift; mealtime)
  • Floor Monitors: Manage spectators, volunteers and competitors to ensure they comply with the rules while in the ballroom (4 per shift, per session)
  • Ticket Sales: Help with ticket sales (four-hour shifts; 2 per shift, per session)
  • Deck Staff: Assist Deck Captain to line up competitors for their heats (2-3 per shift, per session)
  • Consignment: Help organize donations and sales (four-hour shifts; 2 per shift, per session)
  • Medals: Help organize ribbons and medals for the winners (four-hour shifts; 1 per shift, per session)
  • Livestream Assistance: Manage tripod cameras (2 per shift, per session)
  • Anti-Doping Chaperones: Escort athletes selected for drug testing to the drug testing suite {several at the end of each Evening session, depending on the number of athletes tested. 4-6)

Day Sessions are approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Evening Sessions are approximately 6:00 pm to midnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Although you volunteer for a particular assignment, you may be asked to work a different assignment, depending on need Please consider signing up for 4-hour or 8-hour shifts to take advantage of the volunteer perks. Registration will be open on Thursday 4 10:00 pm and throughout the competition. Times are subject to change.
